Let us help you find the best dive computer for you!
Dive Computers are an important piece of scuba gear. By monitoring your bottom time and depth, they calculate your no-decompression limit and adjust accordingly throughout your dive, facilitating longer and smoother underwater experiences. Gauges, on the other hand, provide essential information such as tank pressure, depth, and location, ensuring you can dive confidently and comfortably.
Dive computers and gauges have revolutionized scuba diving by enhancing safety and simplifying dive management, leading to a more enjoyable underwater experience. Modern dive computers offer a range of features, including tracking bottom time, maximum depth, surface interval, no-fly time, audible alarms, decompression info, and low battery indicators. As technology advances, these devices continue to improve, making diving both safer and easier.
Scuba gear has dramatically improved over the 40 years we’ve been in business.Today's scuba diving computers monitor depth and bottom time, constantly calculating your no-decompression (no-deco) limit. This allows for extended bottom time and a more enjoyable dive compared to traditional dive tables. There are two main types of dive computers: Wrist and Console Dive Computers.
Wrist Dive Computers - These can often be the same model as console-mounted computers but in a wrist-mount style. For air integration, some wrist dive computers come with a transmitter pod or you can purchase one separately. Not all wrist dive computers support air integration, so check the model specifications. Air-integrated wrist computers connect to your regulator and transmit real-time pressure data, eliminating the need for a pressure gauge. This allows your wrist computer to calculate the remaining bottom time based on breathing rate, remaining air, depth, and air consumption rate. Wrist dive computers can be used independently or as a backup to a console computer.
Dive Console Computers - Console computers come in two types: non-air integrated and air integrated. Non-air integrated consoles include a submersible pressure gauge (SPG) connected to your regulator via a hose. Air-integrated consoles display tank pressure on the computer screen, continuously updating dive data such as pressure, bottom time, and remaining air. Console computers are less likely to be left behind as they are attached to your regulator, making them ideal as primary or backup dive computers.
Scuba Gauges - Essential for monitoring the remaining air in your tank and your depth, ensuring a safe and successful dive. Choose gauges that are easy to read and understand.
Compasses - Crucial for underwater navigation, available in console, wrist, and clip-on models. Ensure you are familiar with your compass and can read it easily.
Computer Accessories - Include wireless air integration transmitters, USB cables, color kits, maintenance items, and other accessories to enhance your dive computer, compass, and gauges.
