Choosing the Right Fins

Deciding whether to dive with split fins or paddle fins can impact your diving experience. Here’s a simple guide to help you choose:

Paddle Fins: These are the most popular designs because they allow you to glide through the water quickly. Modern paddle fins are lightweight and efficient, making them ideal for various conditions, especially in strong currents where speed and power are essential.

Split Fins: Designed like a propeller, split fins decrease turbulence and increase efficiency with each kick, but they don’t move you as quickly as paddle fins. They are best for easy dives in calm waters where less effort is preferred.

Fin Styles

• Full Foot Fins: These can be worn with or without dive boots or socks. They enclose most of your foot, often with an open toe for comfort, and are perfect for warm, tropical water dives.
• Open Heel/Adjustable Fins: Featuring an adjustable heel strap, these fins are designed to be worn with dive boots, offering extra protection and warmth. They’re suitable for all conditions and are easier to put on and take off.
